The balance point of the bare blade will differ from the balance point of the fully assembled sabre.
Here is why the balance point varies:
- Weapon Assembly: A bare blade has a completely different center of balance compared to a fully assembled sabre, which shifts the balance point significantly back toward the guard.
- Components: The total weight depend on your choice of guard (size, matte vs. gloss finish), grip, socket, and pommel/nut.
- Blade Set/Bend: The degree and blade's bend angle can also affect where the balance point lands.
